We are an independent fee-only investment advisor based in Houston, TX. We specialize in creating low cost investment portfolios for all types of clients world-wide. Our investment strategy is derived from Modern Portfolio Theory and is implemented with the use of low cost institutional funds. We primarily use DFA funds from Dimensional Fund Advisors, but may also make use of other low cost fund providers such as Vanguard, Barclays Global Investors, and State Street Global Advisors.
We created this website to help investors understand how markets work and how to invest their hard earned money. Our company was founded on the belief that honesty and doing the right thing is paramount to everything else.
What we do:
Thru this website, we help educate investors. For decades, investors have blindly trusted their advisors to operate in their best interest. While we appreciate the trust our clients give us, we encourage everyone to reach a basic level of understanding. We believe it is important for investors to understand how markets and investments work so they can get the most out of their capital.
We work with investors to help them make the investment decisions that are right for them. Investing can be complicated, but it is not rocket science. If you don’t understand how your money is being invested and why, there is a problem.
How to use this website/Words of Advice:
As you read thru this site, please keep in mind that investment management and financial/estate planning are interrelated. The investment section is designed to be read in succession. You will get the most out of it if you read each of the investments’ subtabs from top to bottom (i.e., Investments/Philosophy (all), Investments/Fund Selection, Investments/Rebalancing, etc…).
Investors need to understand the basic difference between investing and speculating. It is OK to speculate, but investors should never speculate with their investment capital. Investment capital is money you know you are going to need at some point in the future. The first step any investor should take is to calculate how much money they are going to need.
